Degeneration as a Universal Law

Spirit shares I Ching wisdom:

I Ching 17 – Following.
Lake is above Thunder.

Following follows Delight (16)
and leads to Degeneration (18).

The way of delight leading
to disaster?

Not necessarily so.

Please explain.

Delight in itself is neutral
as far as ethical outcome
is concerned.

Then it’s a matter of what
delights us?

Yes.

So, in the case of …

Yes?

I’m trying to express taking pleasure
or being pleased with activities
that bring pleasure to others
as well as to myself.

Go on.

In such a situation, how could
mutual pleasure lead to
degeneration?

Degeneration is a necessary part
of any outcome.

How?

It’s a Universal Law.

Then please explain how
this law works.

Everything changes.

When?

Continuously.

But, if shared pleasure is
an outcome then how can this
be considered as degenerating
anything or anybody?

When shared pleasure is increased
then displeasure or unhappiness
is decreased, or degenerated

The message?

That is the message.

Destiny is not necessarily Doom

A spirit teacher shares His understanding of timeless wisdom contained within the I Ching Hexagram 57 – Wind.

Wind develops out of Travel (56) and moves into Pleasing (58).

As we travel through life experiences we must learn to adapt to change, the winds of change that continuously move through our lives, seemingly with a will of their own.

However, we each are responsible for choices we make along the way, without being completely in control of where, when, and how each situation  in this material life began, or where, when, and how our experiences will move us into worlds of more expanded potential, the worlds of spirit.

It sounds like the voice of doom.

Not necessarily doom, but necessarily destiny.

How can it be destiny? It sounds more like a mystery.

Yes. The so-called mystery is that we each travel through life

without ever not being life itself..

Sincere humility expresses respect

Today’s I Ching – 16 – Delight, follows Humility.

Thunder over Earth. One Yang controls five Yin, or do

Five Yin compete to please one Yang?

Spirit explains: Humility expresses acceptance of being

Less than someone or something, or pretending to feel so.

Why would anyone pretend?

It might serve you well to pretend, until you are able to accept

The reality of the relationship in question. Then, He might

Choose to continue to teach you.

Is the message a personal one?

Yes.

Spirit explains I Ching 16 – Delight

Delight follows Humility.

Spirit explains:

Delight is a spontaneous feeling of personal pleasure; a high point,

Not designed to last and, as a high note, must be released.

Humility expresses  the acceptance of the unsustainability of

Extremes.

Could a low note also be such an extreme?

No.

Why?

We grow and reach up, or we do not.

It’s as simple as that.

Spirit explains I Ching 17 – Following

Following follows Delight.

We choose what and whom we follow, if we follow,

And we do, if only our own Way.

Delight suggests extreme pleasure; a light,

Personal pleasure, without much thought as to

Where it is leading us.

What’s wrong with pleasure?

Nothing, unless it becomes a Way of Life.

And then we’re doomed?

Yes.

I Ching 17 – Following

Today’s I Ching – 17 – Following

Lake above. Thunder below.

Following follows Delight.

Spirit explains:

We are all following something or someone.

We choose the path of temporary delight,

Success, adventure, learning, or whatever.

We travel alone or with others,

Intentionally or …

There is no or, He corrects Himself.

At some level of consciousness, we choose.

The message?

Why do you follow me?

You seem to know where I need to go.

Yes.

I Ching 16 – Delight

Today’s I Ching – 16 – Delight

Delight follows Humility.

Spirit explains:

Even if we possess much we can still feel humble.

To take delight in what we are blessed with and

Still feel humble expresses contentment.

Possessions of themselves cannot bring pleasure

Unless we possess what we value.

The message?

What do you value?
